Politics in sport isn't just athletes boycotting or kneeling, it's often them just playing the game

As a white kid growing up in Australia, I was privileged to ignore social issues and politics when it wasn’t “convenient” for me.
It wasn’t until a few years ago that I realised how true the sentiment in that last sentence is.
Yeah I had an argument with someone about this piece. And he said, that his problem was black or gay athletes bringing their politics into the sport. Oblivious to the fact that they'd love not to, and just be treated like a regular player.
